SUMMER MOMENTS

Hello, September! I can't belive it's already the first day of fall season. Summer went by so fast but at the same time it felt like incredible, joyful season. Summer 2018 was probably one of the best summers I've had in years. Also one of the hottest. I tried different things, saw beautiful places and spend lots of time by the water which almost never happened past years. Anyway, with fall approaching I wanted to share some of my favorite summer moments to officially say goodbye.

I went to the biggest event of the year in makeup community, at least I felt like this because NYX Face Awards event was huge and amazingly planned. There were lots of places with beautiful meanings, delicious drinks, many talented and beautiful people and of course, amazing atmosphere overall. I had wonderful time and to be invited to the event like this felt very nice.

This season I 100% realized how magnificent picnics are. There is something so special about them, planning what to take, where to go and then just relaxing and enjoying the day. I guess it's the little things that actually matter!

I've said it million times but cycling around during the warm season is my favorite activity. I love bike rides so much.

Summer is definitely the season of watermelons! I love watermelons, so juicy and refreshening! I actually regret that I didn't eat them more than I did.

Most beautiful place on Earth - beach. I love going to the beach to watch sunsets or swim and enjoy the sun. This year water in the sea was unbelievably warm and enjoyable. Loved it! Next summer goal: go on the picnic by the beach while the sun sets! That would be a dream!!!

Went to this cool restaurant that is right by the water. It was so cozy to enjoy pizza with the view like this!

Craziest adventure we went to this summer! Being alone in the middle of the river while trying to manage not turning the boat upside down and get to the finish spot was so scary yet amazing! Also watching sunset from the boat was pretty exciting thing to experience!

I love summer and I will miss it but at the same time I am ready for next season.

COLD DRINKS PT. 2

Summer is slowly coming to end therefore to enjoy it a little more I am sharing some recipes of cold drinks that I tried and loved. Last year I tried different fun recipes and found some of my favorite drinks that I make through the whole year (you can find them here). This year I wanted to try some lemonade recipes and new iced coffee recipes as well.

CARAMEL FRAPPUCINO
Yes, another caramel coffee drink but I don't mind because caramel flavour is my favorite. I am sure you can use chocolate, hazelnut or other flavours instead because recipe is very basic. Actually ingredients for this drink are the same as for the caramel macchiato one. Since it's "frappucino" everything is blended together.

Recipe (one serving)
Blend 3/4 cup ice cubes, 1/2 cup cold milk (of your choice), 1 tbsp caramel syrup (or any other syrup for coffee) and 1 or 2 shots of espresso until smooth. Top with whipped cream and drizzle caramel sauce on top.

CONDENSED MILK MOCHA
Mocha was the sweetest coffee drink from all I've tried. Of course with every recipe you can manage how strong you want it coffee wise or how sweet you want it with additional sweeteners. I love condensed milk and gladly it turned out very delicious!

Recipe (two servings)
Mix 1-2 shots of espresso, 1/2 tsp. cocoa powder, few tbsps of condensed milk and 1 cup regular milk (or any of your choice) together. Add some ice cubes.

MARS MILKSHAKE
OMG, this is so so so tasty! I think it's the best milkshake I've ever made at home. Perfect mix of chocolate, caramel and ice cream!

Recipe (two servings)
Mix 0,5 l of chocolate ice cream, 1 large Mars chocolate bar, 1 tbsp caramel sauce and 1 cup milk together until smooth. Serve with whipped cream, chocolate chunks (1 large Mars bar cut into cubes) and some caramel sauce on top.

KINDER BUENO MILKSHAKE
Another milkshake with chocolate bars. You can use any other chocolate you want to create a milkshake with your favorite one. Kinder Bueno milkshake is thinner and less saturated than previous one and doesn't taste too sweet.

Recipe (two servings)
Mix 0,5 l of vanilla ice cream, 2 Kinder Bueno sticks, 1 cup milk and 1 tbsp chocolate sauce together. Top with whipped cream, another 2 Kinder Bueno sticks and chocolate sauce on top.

WATERMELON-COCONUT LEMONADE
Watermelon lemonade is refreshing and delicious. It doesn't have sugar in it so it tastes more like juice. Make sure to use fresh and tasty watermelon and if you don't like coconut flavour, you can skip it.

Recipe (two to three servings)
Put 3 cups cubed watermelon, 1 cup coconut water, juice of 1 lime and mint (optional) in a blender and blend until as smooth as possible. Serve with ice cubes and sliced watermelon on glass.

BLACK LEMONADE
When I first saw pictures of black lemonade on the internet I was little scared of how it would taste and if it would be actually enjoyable. To make this lemonade black, activated charcoal is used and you don't need much so it won't be too crazy for your stomach. I actually found good benefits of the black lemonade as it helps to remove toxins from the body. I used sugar in this recipe to make this drink more like lemonade rather than juice but if you want it to make as a healthy drink that will detoxify your body then use stevia or 1/2 tsp of Himalayan salt.

Recipe (one serving)
In the juice of 1 lemon, add finely ground powder of 2-4 activated charcoal tablets, 2 tsp sugar and 1 cup water and mix everything together. Enjoy!

Finding good and delicious cold drinks is one of my favorite things to do during the summer and I love to share my favorites with you. I hope you are inspired to create one of these or any other delicious drink to enjoy while summer is still here!

SUMMER OBSESSIONS

It's been already two good weeks of Summer and I am excited for the more amazing and warm days to come. Right now it's raining outside and feels pretty windy but my summer mood is on and I wanted to share some things I will be obsessed with during this hot and adventurous time.

  • GLOW. Glowy skin is a MUST for summer days. Liquid and powder highlighters, dewy mists and shimmer oils are perfect products for achieving glowy skin. Also, don't forget to drink lots of water and use SPF to get healthy and protected skin.
  • BRIGHT MAKEUP. Even though it's hard to wear full glam makeup on hot days, I still want to do my makeup. While using less products on skin, I like to focus on eye makeup, use bright colors and pretty techniques.

  •  PICNICS. It feels like such a good idea to grab some snacks and enjoy beautiful weather outside by the beach, in the park or somewhere else. I think it's such a cool activity to do especially in the mornings or chilly evenings when you want to relax but don't want to sit at home. I can't wait to plan more picnics.

  •  ACCENTS. Lately I've been obsessed with accent details like bright, colorful nails, gold delicate necklaces that you can combine in different styles or wear alone and gold bobby pins that make your hairstyle cooler. Minimal effort for effective looks.
  • DENIM. Denim shorts and denim jacket are my must haves in my summer closet. It is so easy to match denim jacket with everything, no matter if you wear chic dress or something casual like leggings and tank top.

  • FOOD. Of course there are specific food that I want to eat more during hot summer season. Fresh fruits & veggies, cold lemonades or milkshakes, light and healthy desserts are perfect for summer. I have lots of recipes I want to try (for example, cute smoothie bowls, lemonades, fruit plates, etc.).

RANDOM SNAPS FROM MY PHONE

Hello there! It's the last day of May and it actually was one of the few months which felt incredibly long. May was a pretty good month for me - I did lots of creative things, bought some new stuff that I can't wait to try this summer, created to-do list for what I would like to achieve this summer and most importantly, felt pretty positive throughout the whole month. Before summer-y looks and useful posts I wanted to share random pictures of some things from my phone.

I wasn't very pleased with my May bullet journal set up (few photos on pinterest) - I didn't feel inspired at all, I even thought of quitting bullet journaling as I didn't have any fun creating it.  I guess I chose the wrong theme (I had yellow dandelion inspired theme) as I didn't know how to express my creativity with it and I just wrote my everyday to-do's without any doodling.
Although, when I was creating June's spread I definitely had more fun and inspiration. I am happy with my June's tropical theme. Everytime I use pink and gray green colors I enjoy my themes and bullet journaling much more.

Few weeks ago I went to my favorite store in town called 'Manilla' - from amazing pastel colored furniture & tropical vibe interior to main things they sell (pens, stationery, home stuff and beautiful cards), I love it there. Besides that, they also sell rose latte which looks and tastes amazing. The rose latte is coffee free therefore it was perfect for me (as I am not a coffee person).

I found this picture on my phone and wanted to include it in this post even though I got this card few months ago. I love NYX makeup so much and when I got an opportunity to have (VIP) discount card I was absolutely happy.

At the beginning of May, I had a plan to stay away from sweets and junk food to prepare myself for a marathon. I love sweets, I am the person who craves something everyday and I never thought I could stay away from junk food but surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Even though, sometimes I wished I had donuts and chocolate instead of healthy food. After a good month of eating healthy food, I enjoyed the weekend with waffles and actually ate them without any guilt because on occasions everything is allowed, right?

Makeup makes me feel good when I am not feeling my best but lately I don't even want to play with makeup and it never happend to me as I enjoy the process so much. I have so many looks in my mind and after going through youtube videos and instagram posts I got my little inspiration back so hopefully I'll be able to share some new looks soon.

I usually don't post these kind of random posts but I wanted to share just some everyday kind of things. I hope you enjoyed this post.

DETOX JUICE

Hi there! It's a new week and I am so excited for another new beginning. I believe that everyday or every week you can change your habits, try new stuff and find new motivation. Therefore, I am so motivated to eat healthier and feel better. Lately I've been eating more veggies and fruits than I used to and it feels so good! I love to drink juices when I don't feel like cooking, between the meals or when I have some cravings for sweets.

My favorite way how to add vegetables & fruits to my diet is juicing. Since I got a juicer, I've become obsessed with it. It's so quick and easy to make a good juice full of good nutrients. At the moment, I am loving green juices so I wanted to share with you my favorite detox juice and benefits of each ingredient.

DETOX JUICE INGREDIENTS:

  • CELERY - even though I hate the taste of celery in mixtures it's pretty tolerable. Celery helps with skin problems & weight loss, controls blood pressure, cleanses the body, etc.
  • GINGER - I love ginger and use it everyday. It strengthens immune system, promotes detoxification, improves blood circulation, soothes muscle pain, etc.
  • PINEAPPLE - rich source of vitamin C, boosts your energy, hydrates the body, promotes bone, heart & eye health, etc.
  • KIWI - keeps skin healthy, boosts mood, promotes better sleep, etc.
  • CUCUMBER - promotes digestion, hydrates the body & skin, flushes out toxins, etc.
  • AVOCADO - (add avocado to juice separately) maintains healthy skin, promotes detoxification, helps you absorb nutrients, helps control appetite, low in sugar, etc.
  • SPINACH - high in antioxidants, fights diseases, strengthens bones, increases brain function, etc.

Healthy juice is a perfect replacement of unhealthy snacks or cravings. I've been obsessed with mixing ingredients and trying new taste every time I make a juice.

HOT DRINKS

I can’t imagine Holiday season without hot drinks, my favorite thing to do is to make a good cup of hot drink. It makes your day or evening so cozy. Imagine having a good cup in your hands while being outside in the cold winter weather or sitting underneath a warm blanket and enjoying Christmas movies, ahh, amazing! Hot drinks are my MUST HAVE essential during the Holiday season.
I love to find new delicious recipes every year. Drinks don’t have to be hard to make because you don’t want to spend most of your evening making a drink.
I want to share my three favorite perfectly delicious drinks that I’ve been making all month.

CLASSIC COCOA DRINK
This classic cacao drink is super quick and easy to make as it has only two ingredients in it. I am sure the cocoa drink is well known drink and almost everyone has tried it. It is not too sweet as you don’t use any sweet ingredients.

You’ll need few cups of milk (depends on how many you want to make, f.e. if you want to make one, you’ll need one cup of milk) and 2-3 tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder. Pour milk into the medium sized bowl and heat on slow to medium heat, don’t forget to stir so your milk doesn’t burn. When your milk is warm enough, add cocoa powder and stir until your drink is smooth. Serve immediately while hot and add toppings if you want. Since it’s very easy to make the drink, add different kind of toppings – whipped cream, chocolate shavings, marshmallows, sprinkles, small cookies or sweets, etc.

HOT NUTELLA DRINK
Nutella drink is very creamy and tasty as it has chocolate spread in it. I enjoy this drink so much that I always make it for more servings than one.

You’ll need 4 cups of milk (again, depends on how many you want to make), 1-2 tbs. Nutella spread, 2 tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder and 2 tbs. sugar ( if you want it sweet. I personally didn’t add sugar). Pour milk into the medium sized bowl and heat though, add nutella, cocoa and sugar. Stir until no lumps remain. Serve with desired toppings. I added whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top.

CONDENSED MILK DRINK
This drink contains more ingredients and takes a little bit of time but not too long. I would say that this is also the sweetest drink.

For two servings, you’ll need ½ can condensed milk, ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 cups milk, 1 tsp. vanilla extract (optional) and pinch of salt. Place condensed milk, vanilla extract, cocoa powder and pinch of salt into medium sauce pan. Stir until cocoa is mixed well with condensed milk and no lumps remain. Little by little add milk. Place mixture on the stove and heat though, stirring continiously. Do not boil. Add desired toppings. In my opinion, mini marshmallows are the best topping.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Make yourself a good cup of delicious drink and have a wonderful Holidays!

SMALL THINGS THAT GOT ME INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT

I would like to start this post with wishing you all Happy Holidays and I hope you spend your time with your loved ones!

In this post I share my favorite small things that got me into the Holiday season.

CHRISTMAS TREE.
This year we decorated our tree pretty early. Decorating Christmas tree + listening to Christmas music = the best way how to start the Holiday season. This year we went for silver & purple decorations and our white tree looked like this way better than the last year (when we had green, red & gold decorations).
HOT DRINKS.
I love hot drinks and hot cups in hands make everything so cozy especially if you relax with a good Christmas movie in front of you. Most of the drinks I made were chocolate-like and I will post my favorite recipes for easy & delicious drinks very soon. Although, I also made hot cider from Somersby Apple cider drink, added cinnamon sticks and it turned out so, so good.

DESSERTS.
Sweet desserts are as important as hot drinks during the Holiday season. Cupcakes, cinnamon buns with (perfect !!) frosting, lots and lots of whipped cream on top of the drinks, etc., I just can't resist because I love to make desserts but Christmas calories don't count, right? Haha, I wish!

JEWELRY.
And what about fashion essentials? Beautiful and sparkly necklaces are my favorites for this season. Your accessories and you HAVE to shine brighter than any Christmas tree because you need to be that extra!!!

HOLIDAY BEAUTY.
I am so happy that I tried lots of different Holiday makeup looks these past weeks and I even used loose glitters and shimmery things (stuff which I usually prefer to ignore because I just can't deal with glitters falling everywhere). I was surprised how my thoughts about glitters changed recently, every look that contained glitter became my favorite. I am not a big fan of glitter nail polishes either since these are hard to take off but as I got to test out new drugstore peel off base I enjoyed the results and I will definitely try glittery nails for Christmas or New Years eve.
Now I am sure - that you HAVE TO HAVE glitters for special occasions.

GIFTS.
My favorite thing about gifts is to wrap them by myself. I wish I could wrap tons of gifts because I enjoy it and love to find creative ways how to do it. Also, I didn't know if I wanted to make Christmas cards but since I got into bullet journaling and hand-lettering + I was inspired by AmandaRachLee I wanted to try to make them for the first time and I am so happy with the results. I hope my family will like these too.

I hope you enjoyed this post about my favorite things to do/have to get into the Holiday mood and I hope you enjoy this incredible season.

HEALTHY PANCAKES

Happy Sunday! For me Sundays always start slowly and very peacefully. Sunday is the only day of the week I try not to plan but just relax and enjoy it. For that reason Sunday morning is the perfect time for thoughtful and yummy breakfast. I want to share with you one of my favorite pancakes recipes that is healthy and very delicious.

For these pancakes you'll need 300g oats, 2-4 eggs, 3 tbs. greek yogurt, 100g milk or water and 1tbs. honey. You can also add cinnamon or seeds it's very optional.
Preheat the pan. Place the oats into the food processor. Pulse  until the oats reach fine, powdery consistency. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Cook on medium heat (I like to make them small so it's easier to flip them). Serve pancakes with desired toppings.

Other two options how I like to serve these pancakes:

I hope you find this recipe helpful! I really suggest you to try these pancakes. You'll love them!
